Here I am holding my first wild bird, a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk. He smelled really good, sort of like vanilla. He is a hatch year Red-tailed hawk.

Here is my first banded bird, a beautiful immature Cooper's Hawk. The white cloth on my finger is not a bandaid, but is cloth wound around my ring to keep it from catching on the dho-gazza nets. Notice my big smile!!
